The Lakeside subdivision boasts many different distinctive and unique properties. Lakeside Drive and Trevilian Way are two streets that are home to many beautiful and distinctive homes. Many of these homes are in the style of Cape Cod and Traditional. Lakeside is an older neighborhood with some homes built in the 1920’s and 1930’s. 
When Louisvillians think of the Lakeside neighborhood, they most likely think of the renowned Lakeside Swim Club. Lakeside Swim Club was incorporated in 1924, when the first lots in the neighborhood were being auctioned. In the 1920’s and 30’s, the pool was only a quarry and was not a chlorinated, concrete pool until the late 1960’s. Today, Lakeside is a member’s only swimming pool with a well-known and celebrated swim team.   Lakeside also offers fitness classes. 
Restaurants located around the Lakeside neighborhood include Dundee Tavern, Oishii Sushi and Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen.   Also, Kroger grocery store is located less than a half mile from Lakeside. Schools in the area of Lakeside include Atherton High School, Hayfield Montessori School, Assumption High School, St. Francis of Assisi School and Highland Middle School.
